At Global Village International (GVI) Preschool, we believe all children should have access to affordable, top-quality daycare and preschool programs. As a Colorado award-winning 5-star nonprofit, we are committed to helping families in Aurora and the surrounding communities navigate the complexities of childcare funding.
Whether you are looking for care for an infant (6 weeks+) or a preschooler ready for kindergarten, there are several ways to reduce or eliminate your tuition costs. Here is the latest update on how to qualify for free or discounted preschool in Colorado.
Universal Preschool (UPK) Colorado
The Universal Preschool (UPK) Colorado program ensures that every child in the year before they are eligible for kindergarten can receive at least 15 hours of tuition-free preschool per week.
Who Qualifies: All Colorado children in their year before kindergarten.
Extended Hours: Some families may qualify for up to 30 hours of free care based on specific factors like income, foster care status, or if the child is a multilingual learner.
At GVI: We offer a unique UPK program that includes our renowned dual-language (Spanish/English) curriculum, ensuring your child is globally prepared before they even reach elementary school.
Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP) – Current Status Update
CCCAP provides essential subsidies to help low-income families cover the cost of childcare while parents work, seek work, or attend school.
Important Update: Currently, CCAP funding in many areas is frozen.
Our Recommendation: We strongly recommend that parents still apply. Even though funding is temporarily paused, getting on the list is crucial. If a current CCAP family discontinues their care, a spot may open up for the next eligible family in line.
GVI Support: As a nonprofit, we prioritize CCAP-qualifying families. Contact our front office for assistance with the application process or to discuss how we can hold a spot for your child.
The Unique GVI Grant Program (Infants & Toddlers)
Because we understand that the first few years of life are the most critical for development, GVI Preschool has established a unique GVI Grant program specifically for infants and toddlers.
This program is designed to bridge the gap for working parents who may not qualify for other state subsidies but still need financial support to afford high-quality care.
Eligibility: The grant is based on income and family size.
Requirements: Parents must provide proof of employment and income.
Limited Availability: Space for this program is limited and fills up quickly.
How to Apply: This is an internal GVI program. Please inquire directly at the school to see if your family qualifies and to check current availability.
