We understand that as a parent or guardian, you may have various questions and concerns about your child’s early education journey. That’s why we have compiled this comprehensive list of frequently asked questions to address any uncertainties you may have.

Below, you will find an array of questions that parents typically ask when considering enrolling their child in our early education center. We understand that choosing an early education center for your little one can feel overwhelming. That’s why we want to assure you that we are here to support you every step of the way.

We are more than happy to address any additional questions or concerns you may have, as we believe that open and transparent communication is key to building a strong partnership with parents.

We meet or exceed all policies and rules established by the State of Colorado Dept. of Health as well as those established by Tri-County Health Department. This includes guidance regarding masks, daily cleaning and disinfecting, social distancing, as well as rules regarding procedures in case of infection of staff or students.

Our center is open weekdays, Monday through Friday. The hours are set for the convenience of working parents.

  • The center is open from 6:30 am 6:00 pm. You are welcome to drop off/pick up your kids at the times that work with your schedule.

  • The actual class day will run from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. You can participate in the hours that best meet your personal needs.

  • The center is closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Some centers close early on Christmas Eve.

  • The center follows the same inclement weather procedures as the local school district. If the school district’s schools are closed, the center will be closed.

We do not offer half day programs, but you can drop your children off and pick them up at the times that best suit your schedule.

  • Our teachers are dedicated educators with preschool credentials in the classroom.
  • They have completed early childhood education credentials and go through the state background check process.
  • We also have aides in the classrooms to help
  • Our center is licensed and permitted through Colorado’s Health and Human Services Department and the County Health Department.

  • The curriculum aligns with The Colorado Early Learning and Development Guidelines, Colorado’s Quality Standards for Early Childhood Care & Education Services, and the Colorado Academic Standards for Preschool

The fees cover our complete academic program including learning Spanish, as well as breakfast, lunch, and a snack. There is no extra charge for early drop-off or late pick-up of students.

  • We are very concerned about health and wellness, which is why our meals are nutritious. They follow the MyPlate guidelines, which replace the older food pyramid guidelines. Our meals comply with the guidelines provided by Colorado’s Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). CACFP guidelines were recently revised to anticipate the new dietary guidelines due from the federal government that will update the current guidelines that were adopted in 2010.

  • Our meal times are a wonderful for children to interact with each other and staff. Parents are always welcome to attend lunch to connect during the day with their child.

  • We work with the county for CCAP funding and Denver for the DPP program
  • We provide discounts for military families, siblings
  • We offer a limited number of scholarship discounts based on household income

Each student will have their own mat for nap time.

The preschool has its own playground. It is enclosed by a fence. The toddlers and infants also have their own playground.

GVI Preschool caters to children ages 6 weeks to 13 years. Our program offers developmentally appropriate learning experiences for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, pre-kindergarten, and school-age children.

GVI Preschool operates from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. We understand the needs of working families and strive to accommodate their schedules.
